Club History

Reynella Smallbore and Air Rifle Club (Originally Reynella East Air Rifle Club) was formed back in 1983 by Sylvia and Morian Muehlberg in the gym of Reynella East High School.

In 1989 the club was moved to the changerooms of the Reynella Sports and Social club, where we would wait patiently for the football players to finish up in the afternoon and convert the changerooms into a pop-up range. We were one of the first clubs in SA with automatic targets.

In Early 2001 we finally got funding and development approval for a new dedicated range at the site of the existing range, which was a dedicated 10 position, 10m air rifle range using paper targets.

In 2012 the range was extended to allow for 20m rimfire shooting.

In 2018 the air rifle range was upgraded to digital Olympic standard targets

In 2025 we completed the upgrade to five of the ten 20m range to use the same digital targets that the 10m range has.

Over the years, the club has trained and developed many shooters attaining Olympic levels of skill.

These include names such as: Jack Rossiter, Carrie Quigley, Suzanne Banks, Adam Pascoe, Ben Mahoney, Andrew Warren, Belinda Muehlberg, Emma Adams and Victoria Rossiter. Even our joint founding member Sylvia Muehlberg participated in the 1984 LA Olympics!
